I need help with replacing Impleller in External Hydor Prime 20 Filter.

how do u get to the impeller (without breaking  )

I am not familar with the Hydor brand as Im firmly in the Eheim camp. But having said that and replaced a few Impellers over the years I would imagine it should be somewhat similar.
So remove the pump head from the canister and turn it over to see underneath, There should be a mechanism that will unlock a small hatch which would allow you access to the impellier chamber. (twist, turn or flip) It will be held in place by 2 rubber bushes on either end of a ceramic shaft which runs through the center of the blade unit and a strong magnet. It should just pull out, and you will feel the force of the magnet trying to keep it in the chamber. Once you have it out for cleaning/replacing make sure you have the two rubber bushes on each end of the ceramic shaft as sometimes the top one will remain in the chamber and when you reassemble can get crushed and not seat the impeller properly. If you are taking it out to replace then here is an internet site I always use for parts (very reliable, prompt and good customer service)

Hope this was of some help to you.

ok i got one, here's how to do it:

turn off and disconnect the mains lead. take the lid off the filter, turn the lid upside down. you will see two holes in the casing, one should have a silver label showing. put your thumbs in the holes, and turn anti clockwise. this takes a fair bit of force, just take it easy, it will come free in the end. remove the casing and you will see the impeller, set into the lid. all you do is pull the old impeller out, give the moulding a good clean, and replace the new part. you should see an oring that seals the impeller, it goes around the edge of the casing, make sure it is clean and well seated before you reassemble the pump. now the difficult bit, replace the casing into the lid and do the reverse of disassembly. this takes a fair amount of force too. when it clicks into place check the impeller is free and moves under power. if not wobble the casing around till it is free. then put the lid on the cannister and you are off.

if i can help any more give me a shout.

I have done all above.
turned anti clockwise.
took it out
but there is still another "wall" between me and the impeller.
should I pull or turn it out ? by force or by mind ?

tnx for the help

oopps yep it just lifts out. you can see the hole for the impeller bearing in it, so its not too much problem to put it back together. but you will need to ensure its in right, or the impeller will not turn.
