So being new at fish and now adding plants, I was wondering what I can do to help them grow?

I know I need a light for maybe a good 8 hours a day, But do I need fert? What else would be a plus to help them grow?

At the moment I only have one pleco and he's tiny so I doubt very much he would take a nibble at them

Also if possible, where could I buy the stuff needed? Am in the UK.

Good start would be buying some true aquatic plants, sorry to be blunt but the non aquatic ones get bought a lot to start with and they just rot. Look for species like Echinodorus, Anubias, Microsorum, Bolbitis, last 3 need to be tied or glued to wood or rocks by the way. Other species like Hygrophila, various mosses, Cryptocorynes are all good for low light set ups. More things good for plants are good flow in the tank, deep substrate for rooting and some ferts, aqua essentials do Neutro T which is perfect for low tech set ups.

In my sig is a journal called "undiscovered" all plants are low tech on the wood so look out for those.:good:

So get some Neutro T and the plants you suggested? I didn't think the ones I got off ebay would be of any use for me.
