Hello everyone.
I am a newbie to fish keeping and a newbie to this forum.
Just wondering can anyone tell me the best way to plant my plants in my tank. Should they be in pots or straight in the gravel? They are green cambomba, water cabbage and new zealand grass. I apologise if i have put this post in the wrong place. :good:
Thanks Kathy

personally, I've put mine straight in to the substrate. Don't forget to remove any lead weight or at least loosen it...otherwise it will cause problems in the long run, as it has with mine!

plants put into the substrate but leave the "neck" of the plants uncovered -

make sure to rinse them in dechlored tap water to make sure no snails or things on (but you cannot get rid of the thingies you cannot see) but is precautionary to wash them or put them in a q-tank first

i do and have NO snails, whereas ppl on here have HUGE problems with snails and they may well have come from the plants

ok... the only snails that i recommend are the malaysian trumpet snails, as they churn the substrate. If you want to get serious , make a cheap yeast CO2 kit... try also getting good lights for it. Put them directly in the substrate, it has worked efficiently in my planted aquarium. Check my website for info! :)
