Hi all

I have trying now for 9 months to achieve an attractive planted aquarium, but as of yet I've had no luck.

My tank stats are 6.8ph, 25 degrees, 0 nitrites and relatively low nitrates all of the time due to 25% weekly water changes. not sure on water hardness but I live in Blaydon, tyne & wear if anyone can tell

My lighting is Fluvals standard 2 x T8's which are on from 2pm until 9pm. I also have moonlight LEDs running from 8.55pm to 11pm

My fish (listed in signature) are fed on a wide mix of foods including cucumber, flake, frozen and algae wafers. They are fed 5 out of 7 days at 6pm.

My last purchase of plants was from Java-plants. It was the 30" collection which included:
5 x Echinodorus Tennellus
5 x Hygrophilia Polysperma
5 x Red Ludwigia
5 x Ambulia Aquatica
5 x Bacopa Monniera
5 x Red Ivy
5 x Diplis Diandra
5 x Vallis Torta
5 x Elodea Densa
5 x Hairgrass
5 x Bacopa Caroliniana
5 x Pygmy Chain Sword
5 x Cabomba Aquatica
5 x Vallis Corkscrew sml
5 x Sagittaria Subulta

obviously all weren't used due to the size of my tank. All plants have algae, be it black beard or brown algae

Any advice on what I can do as I'm pulling my hair out, especially when looking at other stunning tanks on the website. Any help from here on in is MASSIVELY appreciated.

Kevin

How are you measuring your CO2? Are you dosing anything? Got a picture of the tank?

Oh, and welcome. :)
