i noticed yesterday this little fellow had trouble staying upright, so i watched for a good while and after trying to wedge himself under a stone so he satyed put i noticed what seemed to be damage to his fins on his belly, ive taken him out the tank this morning as ive noticed he is now a target for the others ive taken some pics and wondered if anyone can help as to wether this is a disease or an injury.

there is some food in the bowl as i thought he might be hungry as he did not feed yesterday

he is still full of energy when he needs to be and was a sod to catch this morning so he doesnt seem to be that sick

i hope you can see what i mean about the damage under his fins when he swims it looks like a peice of red string flowing from under his fin

Size of tank in gallons or litries.
How many fish and which type.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

He dosn't look good.
Is he bloated.
Any sores on his body.
Does he rest to onside.
What do you feed your fish?

he is not bloated
there is what looks like damage to his (what id call an armpit) you can see it as redness on the photo
he seems to want to wedge himself between things as if he dosent he floats up side down
they are being fed on nutrafin max and a bag of live food once a week for a treat
the tank is 200 litres
the fish in the tank are
8 guppies
4 endlers
4 peppered cory
1 betta
3 angels
2 silver sharks
2 swordtails
7 checkered barbs
1 very tiny bristlenosed cat fish

the waters is fine i had it tested 3 days ago i dont have the numbers thou

all of the above fish are very small as they are very young

He dosn't sound like he going to make it to me,.
Red patches can be septicmia.
Once septicemia progresses it hard to cure.
Septicemia can spread to other fish as the bacteria leaks from the fish. Once fish are upside down they rarely make it.
If you don't have a hospital tank.
I would look at your water stats again as septicemia can be caused by bad water quality, dirty tanks, parasites. Gains entry through cuts and wounds.

I would feed more live foods in the week.
Introduce some green veg into there diet like, cucumba, lettuce, green cabbage, sproats, broc, spinach, peas.

he is in another tank on his own now he is not always upside down and still swims around like mad, i cant help but think something has got him or he has caught himself on something

my water is not dirty and it was fully tested 3 days ago but i will take it down to be tested again today

i will feed more live foods too if this is going to be good for them i will also be introducing some veg too :good:

thanks for your advice B-)

I think I would add a bacterial med, but to be honest it could finish him off. He dosn't sound like he's going to make it if i'm honest.
Corys are very prone to bacterial infections.
Can't tell to much in the pic if a fish has had a go at him.

ive just took some better pics of him to see if you can see the redness better :good:

Its hard to tell.
Red starting at the fin bases is a sign of septicemia, but it can also be injury.
Get you some info on septicemia.

Septicemia
Info taken from this link.
http://www.fish-disease.net/diseases.htm

Symptoms:

Fish may have reddening at fin bases, blood streaks throughout the fins and body, small hemorrhages around the eyes. Dull listless behavior and lack of appetite may also be present.

Cause:

Systemic bacterial infection caused by various bacteria, including Aeromonas, Pseudomonas and Vibrio. The illness is often brought on by poor water quality or as a result of parasitic infestations or other infections. These bacteria enter the blood stream and circulate through the tissues causing inflammation and damage. Inflamed blood vessels in the skin and at fin bases stand out. Blood vessel and heart tissue damage cause hemorrhaging and consequently leakage of body fluids into the abdomen, which may lead to Dropsy.

Treatment:

Water conditions must be improved for all fish in the tank, regardless of how many fish are infected. Check your water’s Treat with Kanacyn or Tetracycline as well as with a medicated food if the fish will eat. If parasites are suspected, all the fish in the tank should be treated with antiparasitic medication. Using salt to help restore osmotic balance might be helpful.

going to add these 2 pics in the hope that someone can see if it is septicemia the little guy is dead so was able to get some better shots
