Hi, i just planted my Arcadia Arc tank yesterday. Im now concerned about the lighting.
I think the light that comes with the tank is crap, and its definately not powerful enough.

Its a 35litre tank, appx 8 gallons.

I found a light i hope will do the job, but i'd like some input from more experienced plant keepers, as this is my first attempt.

The tank has a JBL aquabasis fertiliser substrate, with layer of fine black sand on top. Not too thick.

Any help is appreciated.

that light is fine, or if you wish you can add another arc pod. around 18w is a good target.

I dont really like the arc light. The one i have glows a reddish colour, and the tank looks fairly dark. I bought a cheap (ugly) 9w light on ebay supposedly good for plants, and it makes the tank look alot brighter, and the plants look a very healthy green.
But the light doesnt have a clip to hang on the tank, and again it doesnt look very good.

this is the cheap light. Is it gonna be useless for plants?
