Help With Juwel Heater Please :)

Hey, i've got the juwel rekord 800 which i keep my two goldfish in, it came with a heater which is in the tank but not being used, i just wondered what the numbers on the dial meant, is that the temp that the heater heats the water up by, i.e. if it was on 16 it would go 16 degrees up from room temp, or whether it is the temp it keeps the tank at i.e it will keep the tank at 16degrees. Info greatly appreciated]

if it says 16 degrees, it means 16 degrees but if your room temp is more than that it will heat up, if your using it for just goldfish get rid of the heater you dont need it

I keep everything just in case lol, i wasnt going to use it for the goldies, but i would like to get tropics at some point so i thought why not keep it? Thanks for the info
