Hi saw a fish posted here a few weeks ago and thought if I ever get a bigger tank....and now I am so trying to remember what it was. Brief description was that it was similar to a severum body shape but with black and white stripes - sometimes a bit faded and it stayed quite small maybe 4-6 inches? Any ideas anyone? One thing im certain of was that it was not a convict.

Sajica?

Looks like convict with broken markings :S

they're from the same family and just as easy to breed  but definitely not the same fish!

normal colours look like this:

You can see they have yellow and blue in their colour, they also have bright blue eyes - hence they are also known as 'Jade eye cichlid' or 'blue eye cichlid'. When they are in breeding colours they go brilliant white and black stripes, and their eyes go black too, and the female gets a black throat as seen in the picture in my previous post.

2 of ours spawned a while ago, although we only have a few fry left (we haven't done anything with them, just letting nature take it's course). If they ever get to grow up we'll happily give them away ;)

Is it aggressive like Convicts?

no, they are passive, but when they breed they do get nippy (understandably) when mine spawned the rest of the fish were confined to one half of the tank!

and what plant is that?

I have no idea, they are all silk plants. It probably said on the packet but I didn't take much notice

edit:
I have just a little look online, it is a Lobelia Cardinalis http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/aquarium...-plant-6in.html
