Tanks 2'x1'x1' thats 12Uk gallons, it just a wee one in the hall. The wife used to keep a goldie in it but I upgraded to a Trigon 190 for the coldwaters so set this up as a wee tropical in the hall.

Thing is I have planted it out now and am only using fertilizer but was wondering about using Co2.

Was looking at the Hydor Co2 Green NRG Advanced - £80 for the complete kit.

Is this overkill for such a small tank or would it be just the job??

Do you need CO2? How much light do you have on your tank? If you have a low light tank then the addition of CO2 won't really make much difference.

If your lighting is a single bulb, 15w or 18w, then it's classed as low light and the CO2 wont be of much benefit.
However even with high light, on a small tank like that pressurised CO2 is a bit overkill. You could get it if you was planning to upgrade the tank eventually. Otherwise a simple DIY CO2 kit will suffice. A lot cheaper and works fine on a tank that size.
