ok. my flyer cihclids have bred again and now the fry are about 3 days into being free swimming.
iv seperated half the fry by adding a small 12" tank inside the main tank. the lid of small tank is made of plastic with a hole cut each side about 1"x2" this is then covered with a fine net. the water doesnt seem to be getting in there very vell and probably a tiny amout of circulation. its this sufficient, do they need a current. also how often do they need to be fed. and do the perants continue to look after the young. i was unluky with the last spawn as they all dies coz i put in medication for whitespot.

You'll probably need more circulation to help remove any build-up of toxins within the small tank. Try putting an air line in the small tank so that the bubbles escape through one of the holes. That should provide a good amount of circulation. they will require feeding at least twice a day. Feed them BBS to ensure good growth. The faster they grow the sooner they'll be on normal foods. not sure on parental care but if they follow normal cichlid behaviour then yes, the parents should look after them to some degree. Obviously if the parents can't get to them, they will not look after them!
