it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission
well i bought a skunk loach 2 weeks ago to go with some other loaches and bottom feeders that i keep and a female betta group, within 2 weeks this little bugger has shredded their fins and is showing aggression at everything, can anyone recommend what to keep him with as i really don't want to get rid. he is only about an inch and he is chasing a 5inch hoplo around.

You should buy more skunk loaches atleast 3 more , they will divide the aggression bewteen themselves rather than the other tank mates.

Or you can put him in a tank that only has short finned fish.

Ive heard that Skunk Loaches are going to be aggressive no matter where you put them. They probably need to be in a species only tank. I think Ive read where people have had success with them. You might want to ask a mod to move this to the Loach Forum with you might get more responses.

Skunk loaches are essentially the fish version of a demon, and will relentlessly tear other fish to pieces (Usually just the fins) They are best not kept, or kept amongst themselves :)

skunk loaches, or the spawn of satan as I like to call them, are the
worse loach you can out in a community tank.
they will tear fins off any and all fish they are with.

I highly recomend that this fish is put in a species only tank.

Looks like i'm taking him back then, the lfs which i use all the time and thought i could trust told me that it would be fine, she said it would stick up for itself, not be a tazmainian devil in the tank.
I am off now to kick myself and to write 1000 line of "do not trust the lfs" Thanks guys
