Hi all not been around for a bit due to this and that
since i did a swap with minnnt for the Cichlids they have done some growing up and have some changes so could i check the id of them please

my 10 saulosi still look the same although a few are getting darker and taking on male characteristics and growing well

ok i have 5 cobalt blue and they have grown well and not really changed much BUT you can id them if you whant

ok the main ID help is with the 11 socolofi they all started of like this and i think this one is female as its holding

now this next fish looked just like the one above its fine and swims around with all the rest its not hiding and its the first out when the food goes in but look wft is going on

as you can see this one is going through some change???

Ooo... they look nice! No idea what they are Mark, but they look super.

They were honestly sold to me as Socolofi, but there were a lot of close species in his tank so obviously some kind of cross breeding has taken place.

The Cobalts look awesome now.

Wish I had never let you have the Saulosi now, I'm fancying some again. Maybe I will go with the Coral Red variety though this time.

Sorry I can't be of any more use to you than that. I've kind of lost touch with Malawi's and Mbuna of late.

Yes the cobalt blues are fantastic one has grown really well and is the boss lol
The saulosi have grown but still there all a orange/yellow no blue ones yet

Where did you buy the Socolofi from maybe I can ask them
I maybe moving the saulosi to there own tank as I'm getting board with the tropical lol
As my plants are no good now and I've not the time for planted at the moment
So I may just stick to Mbuna

Closely looking and related fish can interbreed, yes. They would more than likely choose one of their own.

So when I add some more fish I'm better adding ones that clearly look different

It is usually body shape that makes the difference rather than markings iirc.
