Help Setting Up A Sorority Tank

Hi all,
Just wanted abit of advice on setting up a Sorority tank,
What will i need, same as tropical but more hiding places?
Also how many female Bettas per litres?

Yep, they'll need lots of hiding areas, and things like plants or slates to break up their lines of vision would be advised, a large ammount of plants would be good, obviously silk or live preferably some with big leaves... and basically just set it up so that they can have seperate teratories and they aren't packed together.


I'm not sure about exact female - liter ratio but I'd just look at how many others have got in what sized tanks and work via that

20 Gal would be good. You should keep 5 females or more for a bigger tank. I had 7 in a 36 gal tank at one time.

Yes set up enough hide outs for every fish has a place to call home. You do not want to keep 2 or 3 because with 2 one gets pick on too much and with 3 you will have one gets beat on by the other 2.

Some females do well with other but you could get one that is down right nasty. I had one like that. They set up a good pecking order much like hens do. So the more the better.

Yeah, it's generally advised not to keep less than 6 females together, but really it is the more the better from what I can gather so any aggresion is spread out and no-one is picked on solely
