Just bought 2 emerald green corys and 3 guppys. all seem fine except one of the corys which was laying on its side and looking dead. he hadnt been in the tank 20 minutes when i noticed this. i took him out and put him in a small container with fresh water and a little stress coat. hes alive but just sitting on the bottom and breathing sloowly. what can i do. my water is ph-7.2 amm.-.25 nitrite-.25 nitrates -10 i have dosed with prime to detox the water also. anyone have any ideas.

Bad water quality.
How long has the tank been set up.
How many gallons is the tank.
How many fish and which type.

Corys need mature tanks should never be used to cycle a tank.
Immediate water change and increase aeration in the tank.
How long did you climatise the fish for.

Does he look bloated.
Any sores on red streaking on his body.
Check his barbels to see if there thin and short.

tanks been set up 2 weeks
55 gallon with 1 pleco 3 corys and 4 guppys(all seem fine except the new cory)
did a 20 percent water change just before putting him in. he had just got in the water when he started to look like this.
acclimated for 15 minutes
no sores or red streaks
barbels are fairly short

Ok barbels should be fairly long, how old is he.
Is he maintaining his balance ok.
Did anyone damage him at the lfs or when you added him to the tank.
Laying to oneside can be bacterial.
I wouldn't add anymore fish to the tank has cycled.
Cyling tank takes it toll on fish as it burns there skin and gill, also does alot of internal damage as it damages blood vessels.

he is having trouble balancing kinda falls to oneside
his dorsal fin got caught in the net and we gently pulled it free'
doesnt look like he was injured, no torn fins observed

I suppose you don't have a hospital tank.
All you can do is add a bacterial med but not ideal in a cycling tank.
Anti internal bacteria med by interpet.
I would let the tank cycle before you add anymore fish to the tank.

i have him in a 1/2 gallon betta bowl right now

should i put some mela or pima fix in

You need a heater and airstone so no I would move him back to the main tank.
Pimafix is no good.
Whats your location.

maracyn is an antibiotic right

do you think he just wasnt healthy from the lfs
or it was his fin getting caught in the net

He could of already been ill at the lfs.
Once corys lay on there sides usually its bad news.

Finger crossed as when they lay on there sides they tend not to make it.
Good luck.
