Glad to hear it's all improving.

With the high ammonia levels you had I would be surprised if the problem was solved so easily. Make sure you do daily tests for ammonia and nitrite for the next week or so - this is a good way of making sure the problem is well and truly solved. If you get readings above zero for either test, do a large water change (50-70%) and test again the next day. As soon as you get a full week without any problems, you're sorted.

Always remember to match the temperature of the water and add water conditioner when you do a water change.

my nitrites are still zero but the ammonia is now up to two again

i am treating again and will water change tomorrow i will let the water sit overnight and add water treatment - the fish appear to be content

oh goodness i thought i had cracked it!!! thanks for the advice fish addict
