Here's the overview.

10 gal tank
3+weeks cycling-
2 male guppies
2 black neons
2 honey gaurami- only one left- one died

Ich on all but guppies visable
Treating with API Super Ich Cure and Melafix approx. 3 days

Problem- accidently put Maracyn2 in (boneheaded) instead of Melafix
Can I still continue with Melafix?
Thanks.

So do you have 3 meds in the tank or 2.
No don't add the melafix.
How are the fish acting.
Why did you want to add the melafix.

I added the melafix incase of any other infections because one of the honey gauramis died. The rest of the fish are acting fine. Eating, swimming. My remaining honey seems a little lonely. The dose of maracyn2 was a mistake. I ment to add the melafix so now there has been two doses of melafix and one dose of maracyn2. The ich treatment will be over in 2 days. Also the gauramis had signs of fin rot.

There far to many meds in the tank.
Don't add anymore melafix.
I would do a water change and add the correct amount of whitespot med back to water removed.
Finrot common on top of whitepsot. Sometimes the whitespot med can help clear finrot up.

Wilder,
Thank you for your response. I will try doing the water change and nix the melafix. This may be a stupid question, as I am fairly new to keeping fish, but would normal water testing be done while the meds are in the tank? I haven't checked for a few days because I felt that the meds would disrupt the readings anyway. Any advice would much appreciated.

Thanks.

The water changes will dilute the meds down in the tank.
But you need to add the whitespot med back after the water change. Add the correct amount of whitespot med back to the water removed. So if you remove say 2 gal then add the 2 gal dosage back to the tank.

Yes meds can knock water stats.
