Help Please

[beginner to fish]

i have had a small 5 gal tank running for about a month i got it second hand and i had it set up with a goldfish in it. i have taken the goldfish out and put it in a different tank and i have brought it up to about 26c degrees and i was wondering whether i could isolate my female swordtail in it now

Is there a filter running in it? If not, then no, you can't isolate your swardtail If there is a filter running in there, then how long has it been since you removed the goldfish?

What size tank has the goldfish been moved into? I know you diden't ask, but they realy need large tanks, as all my brood goldfish stck that I used to breed from were all over 18inches each, so IMO, need at least 6ft tanks to be happy long-term, or better still a pond

What are the stats on the small 5G? Have you been logging the ammonia and nitrite numbers?
