Help Please!

Hi everyone, i have been using ths forum for 6 weeks now and it has been a godsend to me. I have been cycling my tank very carefully for 8 weeks now with fish in and have been doing everything i have been told to do on here with water changes ect. MY tank started the cycle and i managed to get some donated media, 2 lots in fact. I had my ammonia and nitrites and then suddenly i have no nitrite but ammonia is still present. Nitrates are 10, that is the reading from my tap water also so it hasnt budged. Is there anyone in the midlands area (I am 7miles from wolverhampton and 9 miles from stafford) that can possibly spare some more media. I have a Fluval 205 external filter. I know that cycling can take a while but i seem to be getting nowhere. Thanks GRJ.

Has ammonia always been present in your readings? I'm wondering if you have a problem with your test kit

I can spare more media if you want to come over again. Just supplied some to somebody else but still have tanks that haven't been pilfered yet
