While i was doing a water change one of my fish swam head first into the siphon pipe, got his head stuck in to it (gills forced open by the suction) and tore a piece of skin off of where his right shoulder would be and got two cuts on his gills. I managed to kink the pipe and stop the siphon for long enough to get him out of harms way. He is not moving around as much as before and his breathing rate has decreased slightly (possibly due to the cuts on the outside flap of his left gill). I will attach a link taking you to some photos of him (2 at the moment). They are not great as my camera is not very good but in one of them you can see his flap of skin hanging off.

Also i will attach a link to a picture of something on her father, it appears to be either a growth (cancerous?) or a nasty injury.

Any help apprieciated.

I don't honestly think there's all that much you can do, apart from keep up the water quality and use an anti fungal if it gets any secondary fungal infections in the wound.

I'm not sure what to suggest about that lump either...

ok, looked at him this morning again and he has deterioated. He is now failing to stay level (instead he pitches nose up in the water) and he is leaning at about 10 degrees to his port side.

(not good)

he seems to have perked up a bit now. Wound repairing itself. breathing rate back to normal, swimming around happily and eating again. YAY!!!

Excellent!!

ok looked at him again and he is back to normal apart from the flap of skin he is good to go. He's never eaten more in all the time i've had him so i must be doing something right! Her dad's lump is still there and some of the other pond fish have it as well. I think it's a heron attack (#71###ing useless piece of bird).
