I did have the back of my tank covered with amazon sword but since my RTBS shark took a liking to it, it's now wrecked and lkitle more than stems.

in the tank my java fern does well, vallis, hygrophilla rosae australis and a like a spider plant thats spreading across the middle, on and my crypt is nice and busy.

so any suggestions? no cabomba or elodea densa...hate the stuff!!

cheers.

oh tank specs...

350litre, nutrafin co2, 4 4ft tubes.

Many Aponogetons might suit. Although they have somewhat tender foliage, they grow at such a rate under good conditions, the new leaves will replace the old leaves in a few days.

Look out for a "perpetual" cultivar. Many Aponogetons grow furiously for a few months then die down, and some have to be dug up and "wintered" before they will grow again. The perpetuals may have stops and starts in their growth, but don't need anything like the maintenance.

In a deep tank, Crinums might serve, they are as tough as old boots, but get quite big. Vallis of course.

cheers, never thought i would hear my self say this but some of those plants are expensive!!

i like the look of the aponogetons so I reakon I'll find a few of them i really like.

no kidding about the Crinum...grows to 5ft

cheers.

The Vallis in my tank grows to a metre :) so I can imagine the Onion plant. Wow!!!

How about some good old Hygrophila Polysperma (big Leaf var.) it will grow in just about any conditions (within reason).

well, my Rainbows eat just about everything in my tank, the only thing that they leave alone is my Ludwigia Mullertii.

It grows like mad, and is a fantastic colour too. Seems to like higher than average light levels, ie about 2wpg, and additional Co2 to really thrive, but believe me, if my Rainbows won't eat it, it must taste pretty yukky.

Hope this helps,

Sub.

cheers, both of them look good.

although I forgot to mention i was after more broad leafed plants
