Help On Seperating A Tank

Hi as some of you know im splitting a fish tank in half fortwo bettas now i was woundering what to use i would like the option to make it one big tank if i wanted what do u suggest and how??

I make my own dividers as it is so much cheaper. I use 2 systems; one is with report binders and embroidery mesh for tanks which are up to 10 gallons and the other one is with plexy glass and special division holders that I brought from Asia which fit all tanks.

hi what type of strong mesh can you use ??? one that will hold its shape?

Look on eBay for plastic canvas mesh.
Penn plax dividers are ok, I used to use them to divide fry from the adults, but found them tricky to keep in place, & the ones I got were clear, not good for males I think

You can get this mesh in a handicraft store and look for mesh that is being used for cross-stitching work. Normally you can get them in different colours, white and black. The report binders keep them excellently in position. I use these dividers for my betta males and have had no issues. You have to make sure though with bettas that you have a good lid so they can't jump over the divider. My dividers are all the way up to the support brace around the tank and with the lid on that leaves only 0.5 cm of space between the lid and the upper part of the divider.

Another advantage of this mesh is that you only need to put 1 filter and 1 heater in, as you don't restrict the waterflow.
