Ok so my dalmation Molly is preggers ( did not know until this morning) and it looks like she is ready to drop. The reason I thought pregnancy was out of the question is that we only have one dalmation our other Molly is a pot belly, it was not until we got our other dalmation Molly's that I started trying to tell the sex of the fish started reading your posts and realized that she is displaying all the behaviors of not only being pregnant but if being ready to drop.... I have to go to work this afternoon and do not know how long she can stay in the breading box for!

Welcome to the forum Scales9.

She can stay in the box long enough to drop her fry if it is one of the larger boxes. My own preference for saving fry is a small separate breeding tank but many people do not have the space to use such a method. As an "empty nester" I have the kids' bedrooms that can end up with tanks in them.

Thank you for the reply and have now read all of your post regarding pregnant mollies, not too sure what was going on at all yesterday but she seems normal today no longer fat but no sign of any babies, as I said yesterday very very new to this.
With 2 female and 1 male Dalmaton I am sure there will be babies at some point and now at least I will know what to look for.
