Help Needed

And as how my water is, Gourmis may be a better bet, but i do kinda want to get other fish that would make more of a Colorful Display with the Gourmis i will be getting. Would angelfish work or would a different type work along with gourmis

One "large" centrepiece fish is all that will work in a 55g with few exceptions.  Angelfish are another story altogether.  I never recommend angelfish (or cichlids) with gourami, as these two groups are too much alike as I mentioned earlier.  Smaller shoaling fish work very well with a "centrepiece" gourami, or a group of angelfish, avoiding the possible nippers and any fast swimmers.

So i do agree with you after getting off my phone with my LFS(better trusted one), the gourami and angelfish(May) be ok, but thats not during mating season for the fish. So i am not going to try for that as i dont want to lose any fish during breeding season. I will probally just get some Shrimp or Harlequinns(or just swap out my corys for a Common Pleco(now that the tank is big enough for one) to make it better appealing for my Tank downstairs. Any suggestions on Shrimp or other Bottomfeeders that i could do besides a Pleco and Cories(loaches are a no as i wont be able to prevent them from escaping since they could escape at anytime), and im returning my Assassin snails when i have the time to do that as i will now be moving my cories over to my 55Gal tank

I have a whole pack of Khuli loaches in an open topped tank and no escape artists, as well as a small group of Dwarf Chain loaches also in an open topped tank and no one has made any breaks for it. I love Dwarf Chain loaches, beautiful patterns and active and inquisitive too boot. They are living with a pack of Strebia corydoras and I have never seen any bad behaviour from the Dwarf Chain loaches towards the Corys. Dwarf Chain loaches will also come up and explore other sections of the tank, some people mention them nipping other fish but I have never experienced this in my group. Dwarf Chain loaches also like being in a large group, much like corydoras in the mentality of the more the merrier.

With regards to the rainbow fish you are considering I would go with the Banded Rainbows simply because they are quite forgiving in the water department, meaning they are quite adaptable to gH and pH. But they are really quite a large fish and my Dawson River Rainbow (approx. 15cm) is turning into a real horse of a fish and almost looks too big for the 4ft tank its in.

For shrimps I would either start out with hardy easy to breed cherry shrimp, or go for something larger like Amano shrimp. The downside of Amano shrimp is that they are almost always wild caught since they are incredibly hard to breed in captivity. Any of the Crystal, Tibee or Sulawesi shrimp are going to be more of a challenge and really are better suited to experienced shrimp keepers,  they can also cost a lot of money. Gouramis are certain to see small shrimp as food, since they are naturally on a gouramis wild diet. If you do get cherry shrimp I strongly advise only get one colour and don't mix all the colour varities together as they will all cross breed and the resulting offspring are disappointing and generally only end up being given away as culls. Rilli cherry shrimp are very striking and some can look quite similar to the more difficult to care for Crystal shrimp.

well, i guess i could do loaches with the RainbowFish

but whats the M/F Ratio i would need for the Rainbows? 2Femals per 1 male?

If you are thinking of shrimp remember they need a cycled mature tank.

Never had a Kuhli Loach try and escape, But then again mine are too fat to get off the bottom lol.

ill wait on the shrimp for the time being, as i am going to be introducing new fish to my 55 Cycled tank, so im going to wait for any causalitys if any will appear within 2 weeks of adding my cories to it. If none die, ill be adding the Rainbows in then ill add the shrimp after about 1 months

Would Khuli Loaches eat snails? or is that just the yoyo loaches and clown loaches?
