You can get better deals than that if you shop around. I've seen a large 4 foot tank with filter, heater, hood, lights, gravel etc. for £169.99.

If you have the filters etc already you can spend £170 much more wisely on a larger tank.

Im glad you plan to re-house it, just hope it doesnt eat all your fish in the mean time. partitioning it is a temporary solution but it wouldnt be able to live like that for ever so the quicker you have the new tank the better

Hang around shops too when you can or buddy up with the keepers. I got a 30 gallon with stand, heater, filter, lighting and even a thermometer for $50 barely used. Usually that'd cost somewhere around $150-200 at least. I got it because one of the regulars at the shop I used to work at was getting a 100 gallon and needed the room so he just sold it for that. You can find these kinds of deals all the time if you can network with the right people.
