I was 12 when I got my first 10g too! But that was 17 years ago. Now I need some hugs, just remembered how old I was.

One thing that might help you to keep on top of water changes would be a Python. I simply can't say enough about mine! I dunno if you're from the US or not, but here you can find Pythons at most any chain pet store and even at Walmart. I think they're around $15-20, but they're a wonderful investment. Basically, you just hook it up to your faucet and you can gravel vac and refill your tank without ever using any buckets! I'm only about 100 lbs and am a petite, scrawny little thing, so it's a major effort for me to carry more than about 3-4 gallons at a time... needless to say, it would be a real struggle for me to do weekly water changes on my 80 gallon, 29 gallon, three 10 gallons, and two 5 gallons without my beloved Python!
