:D Hello readers I actually have a female platy with four males and she is the only female(obviously). The problem is she hangs with them all the time and just happily goes around the tank eating and that and is not worried at all by them. They don't chase her and leave her alone and she is a happy lttile platy that I have had for four months and the boys don't bother her at all.I'm wondering mabye she is a lesbian or otherwise they are homosexuals  Why don't the boys like her  Well I was going to buy more to make up the sex difference but didn't because she is really happy :) Is this normal for the boys to not be interested it seems odd  Poor little girl nobody loves her.You know she probably would be horrified if she could read what I'm writing about her  Well thanks for reading :good:

it may be because of age... if they are young, the males won't bother her as much as they will when they reach sexual maturity. then, i can promise you, it will be quite ugly. the males will fight endlessly over the female, and that stress may very well kill her.

:good: Thanks for the reply.Well it is good I will be setting up a new tank soon as if there is trouble she will get a new home so all will be well. Thanks for the advice I will keep an eye on her.Cheers :good:

I had a tank full of aggressive young male platys and just a few females (they were brothers and sisters) - which caused a lot of stress and some deaths. I tried to calm things down (and to reduce the incest somewhat :S ) by introducing some big girl platys - but the boys weren't at all interested in the newcomers. They still got pregnant though (so you never know what's happening behind the bushes! :hey:)

In the end I only calmed things down by separating the boys from the girls entirely. I think you'll soon notice if any of them get stressed (and it's just as likely to be the boys) - they lose interest in picking at the algae and clamp their fins. I wouldn't worry unless that happens :D
