I have been away for the last couple of days and when i came home today i found a number of my fish dead.... It appears that over the last few days my heater has gone wrong and my tank temp was 14c.... i have chanhed the heater and added some hot water, but some of my larger fish are not looking to good.. Is there any thing i should do or i i have to expect they will die...

Don't add loads of hot water, the sudden temperature change will shock the fish and do more harm than good. Leave the heater to do its job.

It depends what fish you have and how sensitive they are as to whether they will survive. The fish are likely to be sluggish when cold but may well make a full recovery once the temperature increases. Unfortunatly you will just have to wait it out.

Its my 550 litre tank with the fish mentioned below.... They seem to be ok now so hopefully they will be ok.... I have lost some of my Dollers and now i have only got the 1... Will it be ok on its own or would i better off getting some more to replace the lost

Should never do hot water changes it can do more harm than good.
Best to let the tank heater up gradually.
Keep a look out for whitespot, swim bladder, columnaris.

Also check you water stats.

i agree just let the heater warm the water up slowly we all forgotten or had accident's where the heater has been off for a while just let it heat up slowly i am sure that most of the other fish will be ok
