It could've hurt itself on a decoration.
anyway treat with melafix and follow the entire 7 day course.
Also raise the temp to 82f, this increases the metabolic rate and therefore promotes quicker healing

Also test your water and make sure it's in top condition, you could add salt if the fish you keep can tolerate salt.
