Hi all, newbie on the fourm here. I recently just filled my tank and added my deco. I noticed that one side was severely higher than the other side. I will include some pictures of the level placed on the center of the tank and see if i should worry or not. Sorry about the flickr link had to do that because picture was to big for limit. Also i got a sponge filter from my LFS out of one of their tanks. I recently noticed two small snails roaming around and was wondering if they came from the filter as every other thing in the tank is artificial.

Yes, you should drain the tank and level it up. Being unlevel will eventually cause problems with the structural integrity of the tank and can cause it to fail

Are there any good methods to draining it? I already have it filled and planned on getting fish tomorrow so it is really gonna be a pain the the butt draining it.

What is it sitting on? Is it a proper tank stand?

Use your cleaning siphon and take the lot out before you move anything.

It'd be more of a pain if the tank failed and you had a very wet room and some dead fish.

As sad guppy said use a cleaning siphon to get all the water you can out of the tank and level it up.

Do you know what the problem is? Is the floor level? Is the 'stand' level?

You shouldn't have to completely drain it, as you're not moving it. Just drain until the fish can just swim upright, then shim under the stand. Fill with fresh dechlor water and you're good to go. Just don't shim the tank itself.
