Help My New Fish Are Dying

I am having a time with my 55g. I had some cichlids and a few gourami. The cichlids died off fast after a year or so. I tried to put five Tiger Barbs in there yesterday and they died after an hour. My water quality is pretty good: 0=ammonia, PH:7.4. My gourami and raphael catfish are doing great. I acclimated the tiger barbs for about 25 minutes. I keep up water changes. Any suggestions?

What was the ph of the lfs to your tank.
Sounds like you diidn't climatise them long enough.
