Hi Guys

Just wanted your advise please, I have a Jewel Rekford 80 but over the past few weeks the flow has got slower and slower, I wonder if anyone could advise me on how to get it back to how it was. Its not to much of a problem at the moment because I only have about 20 guppy fry, 3 male guppies, 2 bn and 2 corys so a slower flow is ideal for the fry but in a few weeks they will be going.

You to have to maintain them take it apart and give it a good clean, taking the impellaor out and rinsing it under the tap.

Hi
Had the same problem with mine in the first few weeks of getting my tank, tried taking it apart and putting it back together again a few times and was about to take it back to the shop.
Then after a while realised it was nothing to do with the pump at all (switched it off and took it out of the filter box and placed it into the tank water, turned it on and hey presto a torrent of water).
It was actually the filter wool (the white stuff at the top of the filter sponge arrangement), the juwel instructions said to change it every few weeks but mine seems to clog up after just a few days until the flow is almost non-existent.
You can keep changing the white filter wool (would cost a bit) or you can wash the clogged up gunk out of it, make sure you do this in some of the tankwater siphoned into a bucket (its amazing how much gunk comes out of it!!) i've found you can does this at least twice before chucking it and putting in a new one.
Hope this helps

Hi,

I have a Rekord 70 and I find I have to change the pre-filter weekly otherwise I find the output drops dramatically. At about £2 for a box of five it don't find that too much of a problem. Other than that, I find the Juwel tanks to be very good.
