I am very new to keeping fish, and my neighbour helped me set up the tank. We had some initial teething problems where we lost a few, but since the nitraite etc has been sorted they have been fine.
Last night the tank needed a bit of a clean so I cleaned the gravel and ened up doing just under a 15% water change in the process. Usual method which has caused no probs. Since this morning 4 female guppies have died.
We have had the water tested - apparently its fine. The tetra we have are all ok including the platy we have. Another guppy looks decidedly poorly.
One of the guppies we bought was pregnant and we didn't know - we caught all the fry the other day and put them in my neighbours tank in a breeding tank. Yesterday I noticed a fry (less than a week old) which we missed, and still elusive. I saw him just a moment ago (don't know he's a he yet!!) and he seems fine! I would have thought he would be the first to suffer.
Please help I don't know what else to do.
I am a complete novice so please be patient
thanks
Sarah
