help!

my betta has omething wrong with his tail! what is it and how do i treat it!?
here's three pics of his tail
there used to be some shrimps in there, but i moved them because they were ripping his tail. it wasn't as bad as this though!!!!

stats:
tank is 20l
ammonia and nitrite 0 (also, just done a water change)
eating is fine.
tank is 25degrees.

WHAT IS IT AND HOW DO I TREAT IT!!!!

p.s. i've got melafix, pimafix and myxazin that i can treat the tank with.

White edging to fins is bacterial finrot.
Melafix is only good once fins are healing. So add the myxazin by waterlife.

It should do.

also, you didn't see him before, but his fins are partly white - they've always been that way - it's the way he was when i bought him over 4 months ago.
will he make a full recovery?

Its hard to say as every fish is different.
Depends on the strain of bacteria and the fish immune system.

It could take weeks.
Once you see the fins are healing thats a good sign.

Just follow the med insttructions on the bottle.

The fins will grow back once they start to heal.

once you start using the med it will kill off the bacteria that are eating his tail. then you will notice regrowth...it is sort of clear with a hint of what color it should be. it will color up eventually. it my betta got into a fight thru a divider and had a HUGE piece missing from his tail...no where near as little damage as your fish has. it took him about 4 mpnths to completely regrow. coloring up about another 2 or so. now hes perfect.

make sure you follow directions on the pacage for treatment. best to treat him in a separate tank as anti bac meds sometimes will wipe out your filter bacs and youll have to re-cycle the filter. also remove the carbon from your filter and increase aeration if possible.
