all depends on that particulare fish some get along great others kill everything in sight, corys might be ok later casue they mostly sit on the bottom. maby a little salt to the water and a bit of melifix to help heal the tail? 1/2 teaspoon per gal, aquarium salt only. and 10 drops per gal for melifix,, the bottle says more , but bettas can be senstitive to it. hope he feels better, oh and watch for secondary infections now that hes is under the weather ,, a little thing can snow ball when they are ill, if he looks all bloated and like his scales are up like a pinecone ,, then he is very sick, try to get a picture and post in teh emergency section,, otherwise just keep his water real clean. maby his own tank then ? a five gal with hood and heater you could have a betta and maby 2-3 corys? snails are ok sometime but they poop a ton and make the water yucky fast.
