One of my filters on my main tank has died! The other is still running and i have crammed it with all the media i could fit into it, some more of the media is in the new filter.

To take the bioload off of the remaining filter, i have put my WCMM's in the newly set up tank, they should be ok since the filter is crammed full of the old media.

But there is one sponge left, it is in the main tank but not being used, how long before i have to re-cycle it?

If it was me, I'd keep the sponge wet in the tank water and switch it around with the other media every 24 hours or so. Are you just waiting to get a new filter?

just ordered it on amazon now, will be here within 5 days.

do you reckon the fish will be ok in the new tank, i will watch it closely

i just cracked open the filter case, and hey presto! the coil inside has snapped off at the neutral side, great!

oh how i love sealed units

If you've used your established filter media, there's no reason it shouldn't be fine.

Disaster averted, i have squeezed the remaining media into the remaining pump and my other tank and there is now none left!

Awaiting arrival of new filter (same type as before though)

looking beautifull, i now have a replacement filter and other tank is doiung good as well
