Well because i am still a kid and go to school (I am 15) i have 6 weeks do nothing so i thought "make yourself useful and help out at the Local pet shop. I went down there like a week ago and asked if i could help out, they said yes. They head woman Kirsty has made me look after the bettas. They are in tiny cups with no heat or filteration.

What can i do to help?

At the moment no-one will buy them because they look so bad. So at first i thought i would mix them in with some other fish, then i thought bad idea.

There are 7 males, and like 20 females in a 10 gallon tank UK. Can i help them? There is a spare 20 gallon should i use dividers and make 7 smaller ones for the males?

I have been there all day, since 9am till now. And people come in and see the bettas and ask if there are any other pet stores about.

Plez help!

Sean

good idea, i dident even think of that!

Anyother ideas just incase i get back and the 20s in use, i cant see it happening, but i dont want to get there and not be able to do anything.

thank

Sean

You should ask Bwbettas, it is so fun, and you can give people correct information instead of the Shop telling them to do something completly irrelevant and make them buy something they dont need.

Thanks

Sean

I've been to 1 pet store where the person running the shop wasn't completely incompitent about bettas. I am heading back there today because their shipment day was yesterday and I couldn't make it. Most of the time I see fishs in dirty blue wate with poop floating around. I always buy some though, knowing they will change their colors once I get them in some nice water with a nice tank. If only I could do that...Oh man they wouldn't even have to pay me!! AHHHHHHH!  :good: :p

Im not going to ask for payment. im going to do it just out of generosity and because im so bored this holiday :p 5 weeks left etc its all a bit hectic.

First of all good for you for helping you never know she might give you a little reward here and there or maybee even a part time job for your last year of school.

I know of a fish store that is about 20 minutes away hiring for part timers. I really really wish I could work there, but I dont know enough about other tropical fish (Still researching), and they dont carry enough betta's for me to help them out with. Plus I gotta go to school soon. :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( :-(

I should ask to come help in my favorite LFS when I can for no pay. That would be fun and I'm also so bored this summer and then maybe I'll know when they are getting in a female Fp. Gardneri Killifish that I need. Gotta see what the mom thinks about it. I'm only 13 but the guy there, Jim, knows me because I come in like 2 times every week.

Good for you. I wish there was a pet store in my town but there's not. My town is really small.
