Help Me Im Freaking Out

ive dealt with ich before, most of my fish have it. im very scared of losing them. how long can they live with ich?? its day 2 id say and im gettin the medicine for it tonight. will they recover?? is this something such as the flu for us, nothing to worry about??? does the medicine always work?? someone relieve my panic

Whitespot needs treating fast as its a killer once it infests the gills.
Don't raise temp to 30 till you have added the med.
Increase aeration with the high temp and med as it reduces 02 in the water.
Remove black carbon from the filter if you use it.
Read meds instructions carefully to see if you can use full dose with the fish you have.
