Hello everyone,

I was in my supervisors boss's office today (if that made any since) and he has a tank setup in his wall. It looks to be around 35 gallons. Anyhow, he had a large angle in there, along with 2 fish, that had similar colours to a tiger barb, and even a similar shape. The fish was much large, about 6 inches long and 3 inches high. From what I remeber it had to black stripes or bars going verticle along his body like the tiger barbs, but had a horizontal black stripe coming from his tail fin... if anyone at this point as any idea what I am talking please let me know what kind of fish he was!

I love him and would like to get some myself now.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I have seen a similar post a long time ago about someone worried about getting tiger barbs and someone recommended these fish to them.

I have been searching forever looking for a picture and name, but when you don't know the name its nearly impossible.

Tee barb, eh? I have read about them in old aquarium books from like the 70s and stuff. I have never seen them in real life - probably because they aren't as popular as they once were.

7 inches is quite a big barb. It's interesting looking, but not my kind of fish :p I prefer the smaller tiger barbs.
