Hi

I just purchase my first cichlids, they are 4 brichardi, but i have to get then before the tank is ready, cause they are really hard to get, and people was taking then really fast, i put then in a small 10 gallon tank by until their tank is ready, i'll try to have everything set this weekend to transfer then.

The tank will be a 30 gallon i'll try to do a natural look with this one, i have read that tangs are sand rocks and few shells, but my question is about rock, should i go with limestones o river rock to do this??

With one do you think looks the best??

river rock will probably look better but limestone will help buffer ph

Ocean rock will help raise the ph if needed. Mine have a sand substrate with just normal rocks. With the colour of the fairies, the sand and some light coloured rock there isn't much colour in the tank if you go with ocean rock. You could go with a darker substrate to add a different element. Where abouts are you?

Here is a picture of my set up for the Fairies. I too have 4.

My tap water ph is high i have 8.3-8.4 normally, maybe a combination of both will make it look really nice...

Id go with loads of river rock and when you get algae growing on it the fish will stand out more ;), plus it will look the danglies.
