I bought a South American Cichlid yesterday and we had to chase him around the tank for a REALLY long time. Now he has a flesh wound above his fin and he's hanging at the top of the tank. I have two bala sharks and a cleaner fish that we got with the Cichlid. The other fish aren't messing with him and I don't think they're responsible for his injury. Is there anything I can do to help him? I think he's dying, but I don't know what to do. PLEASE HELP-I don't want him to die!

first of all, how big is your tank, and what type of Cichlid are you talking about? the species range from a few inches to over a foot, all with different temperaments.
I wold recommend to first go to your Local fish store and buy a tank divider, or some type of breeding net to separate the fish. also do daily water changes of about 50%

get an air pump going right away! and maby toss in some melafix to help with the wound. good luck
