Hi,
I have a ill tiger barb, from the community tank I have listed in my profile, she is one of six, and appears (so far) to be the only one showing these signs, I have moved her to a quarantine 10l tank, and am keeping it warm and dark, looking in the pinned topics, it sounds like dropsie without the bulging scales, fin rot (there is some degregation in the dorsal fin), or possibly swim bladder, she swims very poorly , sometimes resting on objects or the floor, or upright, I have tested the tank water it is 100% okay.

I have put some boiled peas in, but she apppears not to be eating.

Any ideas would be appreciated, thanks.

Sorry for the less than perfect pics, these are the best of man, many!!!

Sounds like a bacterial infection with the fins and resting.

You can see the pressure building up inside. The reddening is septiceamia. Im afraid it doesnt look good for her and in my opinion I would euthenize, sorry.

I agree with black angel wasnt sure if they had red fins or not.

They do have red fins but you can see the red on the main body and at the base of the fins.

Hi, Despite all my best efforts, it eventually became aparent that it was best to euthanise as you suggested, so she is gone now.

On the pinned articles it suggests septicemia is caused by bad water conditions, where as my water tests out all good, is this something I should be concernced about (i.e. a major water change possible medication) or just monitor?

Thanks Again guys

I would do some water changes for a few days, when a fish has septicemia the bacteria can release into the tank.
R.I.P.
