Purchased some bulbs from petsmart. 1 that was supposed to be a hardy aponogeton looks nothing like my other apono plant. It's the one with the straight leaves directly to the right of what I know to be an apono.

As best I can tell from the photos, I would surmise that the plant on the right with the thin leaves is an Aponogeton. According to the third photo showing the package, it is the species A. ulvaceus. I believe I have this species, it certainly looks much like the photos, with the rounded bulb and long narrow leaves. There are many species of Aponogeton, not to mention possible hybrids within the hobby.

Byron.

The middle photo shows a ulvaceus to the left of the one in question. Very different leave structure and color. I totally agree it's an apono, it's not the same type the packaging suggests.
