Very nice nimbochromis livingstoni from Lake Malawi.

Looks like he's ready to breed.

it's definately NOT a livingstoni





ferris I think your right in the oscar ID.....amazing what people will do or are told is ok to do...

sometimes I think a rubber mallet is in need

I'd have to agree with DTH's find of the XL MALE (in roll down option) on the above link.

Yes probably... polystigma and livingstoni looks similar. They maybe right and I might be wrong but that's how I look at it.

_cRaCkEr_, what makes you so sure its not a Livingstonii ? I keep all three mentioned species, and looking at them I'd say it was almost definitely a Livingstonii. Paterning is not uniform enough to be a venustus and not speckled enough to be a Polystigma.

No worries Mark. I also wanted to know what type of Cichlid is this since knowing Mamafish is a Cichlid expert and she said " it's definately NOT a livingstoni "

I wouldn't say it was a ready to breed livingstoni as they become blue when ready to breed, the same with the polystigma, I would say that the blotches resemble the livingstoni while the colours on the fins resemble the polystigma??? possibly a crossbreed between both species.

have never kept the polystigma so its only a thought!!!!!!
