My tank has ich and is getting worse. First I have only 1 tank and cannot afford a second at this time. Because I have 2 clown loaches, 1 brown ghost knife and placo I was told I have to be very careful. One store told me my GHK is doomed. I started using Quick Cure in my 32 gallon tank at 11 drops for the tank on the advise of the store keeper because of the BGK. I was told by another store I could add 1 drop per gallon and it would be okay. I started that about 4 days ago and the fish are okay but ich is getting worse especially on the clown loaches. I have added salt at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallon and attempted to turn up the heat. I think my heater is going out because it won't get over 75 degrees. I'll get a heater tomorrow. How long can fish live with ich? I'm scared my fish are all going to die. Please help!!

This what u need to do m8,

First turn the heater up to 28 degrees, wait 1-2 days for all the white spots to fall off your fish, then use the white spot treatment (follow instructions on leaflet)... do not use any other treatment until 7 days after the white spot treatment has finished.

Also, take out any carbon filters that you have in the filters (if you have them). they will just soak up the medication

i use ws1 i think its one of the best on the market these days {but do fallow the instructions }

I find rid ick + to work the best. Do lots of water changes and turn the heat up. However, do not add salt the pleco and loaches are very sensitive to salt and will burn them. Once you see the spots fall off keep treating them. This is when the medication works. It will fool you.

When I treat for ick I treat three days, do a water change and then add the medication every other day on bad ick and it sounds like yours is bad. Keep up with the water changes. You don’t want to over medicate. However, be sure when you do a water change you are not adding the full amount of medication, just the amount you took out.
