Air Pump!!!

do i have to keep it ON all the time?
'coz the noise drives me crazy-- specially
at night.

If YES-- then i'll change it with
TetraTec-- I've heard it doesn't make
any noise at ALL..

If NO - then i'll keep it--- and use it "occasionally"

nope, no need to use an air pump at all, they're mostly decorative :good:

Have you tried putting something underneath it, like some polystyrene or similar, its usually the vibration that causes the noise.

As MW says, you dont need them at all, mainly for decoration purposes or to increase some aeration if needed, although moving the filter outlet is usually more productive for that.

:D

well ihaven't try that yet--
it has 4rubber(glass sucker) thingy mounted to it's "pod"
or docking thing or whatever it is called--

do you think i might need it just incase--
cos i'm about to plant my tank too..

;)

You can keep it as you may want it in the future. Never get rid of these things, you never know when they might come in handy.

Must admit Ive only ever used one in one tank not in any of my others, in the end I wondered why I was bothering and took it out - save some electricity :)

electricity!! tnx for pointing that out
i wouldn't want to get blamed
if we undergo an electricity "spike"

i'll just keep it atm- :D
but i'm surely gonna take it off from the tank,
to avoid using it..

:hey:

As far as the power consumption, an air pump is next to nothing as an electrical load. Usually the amount it uses is stamped on the bottom. Have a look but it will be about like a night light.
