Ok, I'm the one who just bought 3 male guppies and have been having a problem with the orange one. (See need advice-new to guppy world). I thought everything was fine today. I thought I curbed his agression. My goodness was I ever wrong! Ok, please don't tell me that I should get some females, because I don't have enough room in my tank, and my lfs told me that 3 males would be ok together. Today, that orange male was chasing one of the 2 guppies trying to have sex with him. I hate to say this, but he may have suceeded  . My poor poor guppy is so tramatized that he is just in a daze swimming in one spot at the top of the tank. I took the orange one out and put him in a small tank by himself. Has anyone ever experienced such a thing before? I feel soooo bad for my poor tramatized fish!! Please help!

wow, thats really....amazing. and extremely sick, but at the same time, amazing.

poor fella. why dont you name the other fish "Bubba"

sick joke i kno, but couldnt resist :dunno:

hi Stacey...sounds like you've got a male with attitude.

I wouldn't recommend putting a female in the tank....though it would certainly stop the males chasing each other - she would be chased around by them all constantly and that would be very traumatic for her.

Sometimes having loads of plants - both planted and hanging (e.g. water sprite) will break up the chasing but you may need to either keep that male separate for a few days.....he may be better when the other males have had a chance to claim the tank as their own....or you may need to take him back to the lfs.

I've had all male tanks without a problem but they do seem to work better if you have a few more fish in there together....my tank is 2ft long and there's about 12 juvenile males.....they do chase each other but there always seems to be a different chaser and chasee.

good luck with your guppies

Thanks for your responses. Now I'm really puzzled though. -_- I've left the orange one out of the tank overnight. This morning, the one who was tramatized is just sitting at the bottom of the tank in a corner. Is he going to die now?? He's been left alone all night, but could he still be tramatized? Was he really to begin with? He seemed so good up until this happened. Any ideas?

:( Ok, my fish died. Did he die because he was tramatized? Does anyone know what happened here???
