Help For Two Of My Minnows!

Get you some info on black spot.

You need a bacterial med.

Black Spot
stethoscope.jpg
Symptoms:

Your fish will have small black spots measuring about 2 millimeters in diameter. These can be found anywhere on the fishs body and fins. Cysts may be found in the internal organs. It is typical for African Cichlids, however, to constantly have little black spots, especially around their mouths. These black spots should not be mistaken for "Black Spot." These are scabs, which have resulted from digging in the gravel or from fighting.

Cause:

Larvae of parasitic digenetic flukes, Cercaria and Metacercaria. The spots seen contain larval stages of digenetic flukes. The life cycle of these parasitic flukes begins when fish-eating birds and other animals ingest fish infected with the parasites. Once ingested the parasites mature in the intestines of the host animal where they produce eggs. The eggs are then deposited into the water where they hatch and infect the livers of aquatic snails. The parasites then develop into a second and then third larval stage before leaving the snail to seek out a fish host. This type of parasitic infestation is most common in wild caught fish and pond fish.

Treatment:

Remove all snails from the aquarium or pond to end the cycle of infection. Treatment is rarely necessary and can be difficult if not impossible. Minor infestations may clear without treatment as the larvae will eventually die and be absorbed by the host's immune responses. Copper Sulfate may be helpful in severe cases.

Ok thanks but 3 more minnows have died :(
theres just the golden female and the dominant normal coloured male left. :(
I've explained to my parents not to get me anymore fish until I actualy want them.
it was my dad who bought them by the way a week ago on his way home from work since he
thinks that because he diden't have to wait I won't. :/

I hope things will be better once the tanks cycled.
and I hope these two survive. :(

Bless them. R.I.P.

I agree.
Explain to your parents that uncycled tanks cause stress, desease, breathing problems, and they suffer. That should be enough.

Good luck with the 2 remaining ones.

The male wasn't looking to good when I got back from school he could barely swim but since the sick ones died I put the carbon back in and he perked up so could it have been to much medication that killed them?
I added what it said on the container but maybe it was abit to much for these minnows =/
especially since those 3 appeared happy and healthy the other day just like spike before he died.
Anyway both of them appear to be happier now swimming around in the current.
I don't particularly know where to go from here...

What med did you have in the tank?

It has been know for fish to have side effects to myxazin. But it dosn't happen much.
