On another thread early today and yesterday, I was advised to try putting my new betta, Neptune, in my guppy tank - all seemed well for the first few hours but when I came back from running errands I saw that his fins were absolutely shredded!!!

I put him in what used to be my fry tank, its about 3 gallons...

but what can I do to help his fins heal / make him feel better?

I gave him a treat of some blood worms which he seemed to appreciate but I feel awful for him - he has not had it easy going!

His previous owner kept him in one of those tiny betta bowls and now he has been attacked :(

Hi, it was always going to be a risk.
Daily water changes and a bit of aquarium salt would help. If you have any slime coat or stress coat stuff pop some of that in.
Water changes are the key! :)
Goodluck!

water change water change water change!!! KEEP THE WATER clean and hell heal up in no time!
dont add any tonics or meds unless you see serious degreadation (erosion) of fins in the next few days.
clean water is 90% of the time the best remedy...and essential if you dont have a cycled filter.
all the best!
