Hello. I need help with a disease killing fish in my tank
My tank has 0 ammonia, 0 nitrite and 10 nitrates, temp 75, pH is 7.8 and kh is 4 and GH is 11 (just did the testing before posting), have a 55 gal with two Aquaclear 70 with purigen and matrix, airstone, UV Sterilizer and 5 goldfish, 4 tetras and 10 plants and gravel and has been running for 1 year.
Last week one of my goldfish showed signs of sickness by sitting at the bottom and up top of the water, also 3 days before he died he was starting to be really skinny like something was sucking all the fluids/fats out of him. He didn't have any bent spine or skeletal deformities before he died and he ate until the night before he died. I saw white stringy poop in my aquarium before and along with the skinny disease and after reading online I thought it was parasites. I when to the LFS and got Seachem Metronidazole, Seachem Focus and Seachem Garlic Guard and Seachem Kanaplex (i was told to feed only for 3 days with Kanaplex) I mixed in with their pellet food as per instruction and gave it to the fish for 7 days and I have still 4 days left. But, there is another problem that started about few days ago which is I think Columnaris because of the hazy white film that I see at the edge of all of their scales and some white on fins and 2 of my goldfish lay on bottom sometimes and swim very slow with their fins around their bodies but they still eat. I had a molly in there as well and yesterday I noticed she wasn't eating, spitting out food and had the white hazy stuff a bit on her and I found her dead this morning laying against a plant and my husband thought she was sleeping...
I called the LFS and they told me to keep giving them the food mix and also treat with Melafix/Pimafix for 7 days for Columnaris. I started treatment yesterday but 1 molly died so far and they all still seem to have it but they aren't doing worse either? Should I wait another day and then start with another medicine ? can you please give me advice on what I should do? I don't want to lose anyone fish this is affecting me so much I always tried to help them and do the right thing and this is so frustrating. Also, I would like (if possible) a medicine that doesn't kill good bacteria and plants.

Metro is good for the internal problems you're seeing, white stringy feces is a traditional sign of that. Some pics of the suspected columnaris would help, melafix/pimafix will do nothing for this. You need an actual antibiotic, Maracyn & Maracyn II. Ignore their instructions, 50% water change daily & redose, for 7-10 days

I read that Columnaris is gram negative so which should I treat with Maracyn or Maracyn 2? Also I read that sulfa medicine is good too? So many choices...

Sulfa is a good med as well. The Mardell products are more readily available, Maracyn II is for gram negative, the Maracyn, which treats gram positive is a good idea to use along with it to prevent an opportunistic infection from other bacteria. There's a pretty wide range of antibiotics that can treat this, starting with the least harsh & most readily available is usually the best course of treatment.

I was wondering isn't Kanaplex a better choice if I am to treat the tank due to the fact I have plants and Maracyn 2 will kill my good bacteria? I already fed them Kanaplex mixed in with food for 3 days along with the other 3 meds mentioned above...so should i stop that and put it in the water or?

Anything that has an effect on gram negative bacteria will have some effect on you nitrifying bacteria if dosed in the water. This is why a hospital/med tank is often suggested, along with the large daily water changes in many cases. You'll have to use the kanamycin for longer than 3 days; 7-10 is usually suggested. I'd continue at least a few more days with the kanamycin, if there's no improvement it's time to switch medication.

I have a 5 gal hospital tank, but the problem is that all my fish seem to have it and there is no way I can fit them all in there. I have to treat the whole tank :( I am giving it 1 more day with what I mentioned above that I am using and then maybe switch to Maracyn 2 or Triple Sulfa meds.

I'd go with the sulfa, a step up from kanamycin & Maracyn II.

Well when I put on the light today I saw that they had a bit more white on them than yesterday so I went to PetSmart and bought some Triple Sulfa. I did a 25% water change and going to medicate with it for the next 4 days and I also bought some bottle of Top fin bacterial supplement to put in the water after the treatment to help with the good bacteria. Hope this works, I will keep you posted of my results. This was not a good weekend for me and my fishes :(

I'd medicate for longer than 4 days, 7-10 is the usual treatment with most antibiotics. The same daily water change & redose would apply.

Before I went to work today I put on my light to see how they are doing and they seem ok but I noticed even more white patches and larger on their bodies and on some I saw white strings coming out of their bodies! I don't think Triple Sulfa is working guys maybe Sulfa is not strong enough? Any other suggestions?? I don't know what to do, I read that Furan 2 and Kanamycin help better? What is your experience with those? What should I do at this point?

Just like antibiotics in humans, or other mammals, you aren't going to know in a day, generally 3-5 before any significant improvement is shown,

Yeah true, but the symptoms are getting worse 12 hours after I put the med in, is that normal?
