hi everyone im new to this but i need help asap. i have an african cichlid in my 220L tank that has pop-eye and also has white sores around its head, one of which has kind of popped out. looks gross. it shares the tank with 2 dollar fish, 2 guarami's and some feeder fish. his convict cichlid mate died a week ago. we dont have a second tank so we cleaned our main tank and put a multi cure in too. whats the chances of survival and are my other fish in trouble too? getting desperate!

What's the manufacturer & name of the multi cure you used? The symptoms sound like more of a bacterial issue, telling us what country you are from will help as many medications are not internationally available.

sorry i am pretty clueless about the technical side, its a 220L tank, changed the water a week ago after another cichlid died (had no obvious symptoms) checked ph and it was fine. dont add any other chemicals we use fresh water for the tank. the make-up has been the same for about 2 years, no other fish have died or been added and no new plants or anything. we do changes every couple weeks. never had any problems before. i am in australia.

symptoms: noticed about 3 days ago the cichlid had one eye popped out. added vita-pet multi-cure that contains malachite green, methylene blue and acriflavine. white sores have come up over its head, one just above the other eye looks like flesh or something is protruding from it. fish is pretty lathargic and breathing pretty heavy. not swimming on an angle or anything.

i dont have easy access to chemicals as i live in the country, anything would have to be ordered over the net so need to know if its worth the wait or if euthanasia is better option for fish.

What are your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

The white growth do they look like pimples or lumps.
Is it possible to load a pic up onto the site of the sores.

Any pitting or indentations in the head region.

Did you increase aeration with adding the med.

Has any fish been pecking at the sick fish.

Any redness to the white sores.
